CONGRATULATIONS: We would like to congratulate Glen Andreassen (pictured left above) and Bernardo Ashby (pictured right above) for their outstanding performances in the MAPL 2011 fall finals. Both competitors played an incredible match. Bernardo jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead but in the end Glen would mount an unbelievable come back to tie it up at ten a piece on the hill, going into the final rack of the match. He would go on to win it via a one nine combo that was so intense to watch' you could hear a pin drop in the midst of the club. This match was truly one of a kind.
Our celebrity referee on hand was pro billiard player and instructor Zion Zvi (pictured center above).

BECOMING A FORCE IN MEGA
Spring 2012 8-ball Champion
Royce Brown took first place at the $1000.00 payout handicapped 8-ball tournament held at Break Billiards on the weekend of April 28th and 29th. His opponent, Joshua Morancie walked away with second. Both players played an outstanding finals match and kept us guessing to the very end as they both made it to the hill on a 3-0 rack run.
The event, which featured a triple elimination format of 32 players, concluded by 8:00pm on the first and second day making it one of our fastest tournaments yet. Not bad for a triple elimination event where all members received three chances to the very end. We would like to also congratulate Raphael Dabreo and Ambi Estevez who finished in the 3rd/4th spot.
Our next major 8-ball tournament is scheduled for February 2013 with a payout purse of $10,000.00. This event will be restricted to Megabucks league members plus 16 invitations. Some exceptions will apply.

THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
2012 Scotch Doubles Champions
Royce Brown and Jamiyl Adams from team BBB (aka the BIG BLACK BROTHERS) took first place at the spring 2012 scotch doubles event held at Break billiards March 17th and 18th, 2012. The tournament featured some of the strongest teams ever assembled for this event. The defending champions (Team Special K) featuring Kim McAdams and Kenneth Drayton were on a roll until they met up with team D. Power featuring Alfredito Garcia and Ambi Estevez. Both teams battled fiercely but in the end team D. Powder took control and earned another shot at the undefeated BBB waiting in the finals.
In the first round of the finals D. Power came out firing. Ambi Estevez played some of the most outstanding safety’s I have seen to date. After suffering their first hard loss amidst a hurricane of AMBIONIC SAFETIES, BBB regrouped and came back harder in the second round and virtually crushed their opponents in this true double elimination event.
