Poolplayers.com Named Best Association Site by Billiards Digest

The American Poolplayers Association, the 800-pound gorilla of amateur billiard leagues, has a pretty darn good site! It presents itself simply but thoroughly, with links that are easy to find – something we couldn’t say about many of the other association Web sites.

The colorful site also provides a comprehensive history of the organization; outlines the organization’s purpose, mission, and goals; and cites ways to get involved. From the look of the site, it’s clear that the APA has worked hard to make billiards accessible to the average Joe, and we applaud the group for providing this valuable resource for their past, current and future members.”

From Billiards Digest July 2005 issue (pg. 63):

New APA Member Wins Her First Match

Jasmine Nicholas, from Brooklyn NY, recently joined the APA league in the begining of 2005. She had never played the game before, but approached each match as if it were her last, making shots at times that some intermediate players would envy. Until recently however, Jasmine was not victorious in winning a match or even a game.

That soon changed when her team mates came together and decided to help her with her learning process. As a result, through hard work and overwhelming support from her team (the Poolkatz) Jasmine won her first game and match this month, October 2005. The8knights solutes Jasmine and the Poolkatz for demonstrating that there are no limits, when working together as a team.
